Salone del Mobile 2026: brands, new products and final overview
Salone del Mobile 2026 took place in Milan, at Fiera Milano Rho, from 21 to 26 April 2026, alongside Milan Design Week. The event brought together more than 1,900 exhibitors and, as every year, confirmed its role as an international hub for design and furniture, particularly for Made in Italy furnishings and solutions.
Brands such as Ernestomeda, Baxter, Olivieri, Flou, B&B Italia, Poltrona Frau, Lema, Elmar, Vitra, Kettal and many others once again succeeded in surprising the public and reaffirming their identity within the interior design sector. At Interni Italia by Attaguile, we have been attending Salone del Mobile for 25 years now — a significant span of time that has allowed us to witness the gradual evolution of trends, tastes, technologies and materials.
Once again, the event gave us the opportunity to assess the appeal and quality of individual products, while also strengthening business relationships, discovering new suppliers, placing preview orders for the collections we will later display in our stores and showrooms in Sicily and abroad, and defining useful, functional tools to share with our architects.
And while it is true that 70% of our suppliers come from Brianza — a region that, over the past 70 years, has become synonymous with excellence in furniture manufacturing — it is equally true that new players are entering the market. We were there, in the front row, to watch the show and understand where the industry is heading over the coming year.
Here is what we saw, told through words and also through the images captured in our dedicated videos on Ernestomeda, Baxter and Olivieri.
ERNESTOMEDA: fluid forms and material trends
For Salone del Mobile 2026, Ernestomeda did not exhibit directly within the pavilions of Rho Fiera, choosing instead to present its latest innovations in its centrally located showroom at Via Larga 9 in Milan. Under the artistic direction of architect Giuseppe Bavuso, the brand unveiled an evolved vision of the contemporary kitchen, built around fluid forms and a seamless continuity between indoor and outdoor spaces.
The broader 2026 trend, focused on serene, warm and natural atmospheres, was also embraced by the brand, with a tangible impact on two key fronts.
- Dark, textured finishes: the presence of treated materials and deep black tones — the so-called shadowy blacks — creates elegant contrasts across surfaces and solid volumes.
- The choice of ethereal white: in line with Cloud Dancer being named Colour of the Year, the brand enhanced soft, luminous shades, such as the Bianco Vaniglia lacquered finish on the ONE model, capable of amplifying a sense of comfort and calm.
BAXTER: light furnishings, rigorous yet welcoming lines
Baxter unveiled its new collection with a major dual presence: both inside the pavilions of Rho Fiera, at Pavilion 9, Stand G09 H10, and in the heart of the city through its historic Fuorisalone events. The concept behind the 2026 Collection was based on a refined exercise in “subtraction and lightness”. The exhibition layout featured permeable, luminous architectural structures, designed to highlight the furniture and raw materials through large textured wings suspended in space. Rigorous yet welcoming lines defined both the living and sleeping areas.
Among the brand’s new products, we highlight:
- Viktor Sofa and Y25 Table: the former is an icon of contemporary design created by the Draga & Aurel studio, immediately recognisable for its ability to merge vintage aesthetics and functionality. The latter is one of the most significant new additions to the Baxter collection, designed by Pietro Russo: this table represents an interaction between architectural rigour and material exploration, a distinctive feature of Baxter’s stylistic research
- Chicago Armchair and Afra Armchair: two new proposals designed to expand the lounge offering, characterised by enveloping, highly original geometric forms
- Kael Table and Amélie Table: sculptural elements dedicated to the dining area, enhanced by sophisticated material combinations such as natural stones and treated metals
- Nadir Bed: the main new addition for the sleeping area, introducing a new chapter of textile and structural elegance within Baxter’s bed collection
OLIVIERI and its meticulous attention to detail
Finally, as regards the Olivieri brand, the beating heart of its 2026 exhibition was the development of a complete residential structure — “the villa” — recreated inside the Milan showroom at Via Carducci 38, in the Sant’Ambrogio district. Here, the brand presented the “Abitare Olivieri” project, focused on the concept of domestic micro-architecture and on a meticulous, made-to-measure attention to detail. Here is a short video summarising the brand’s exhibition.
Olivieri’s format showed the public a complete stylistic continuity between the different areas of the home, highlighting above all:
- Carefully designed proportions and geometries: a fluid transition between living systems and the sleeping area, with a focus on integrated wall units and double-sided partition elements
- The importance of materials: extensive use of real wood — a distinctive feature of the brand’s artisanal tradition — combined with contemporary textured surfaces, satin-finished metals and reflective glass
- Invisible storage systems: an evolution of wardrobe systems and tailor-made walk-in closets, characterised by increasingly slim profiles and frames, concealed integrated LED lighting and completely fluid opening systems
The challenges of today and tomorrow in the world of furniture
Beyond everything we saw and experienced as furniture professionals, what can we say we brought home with us? Without a doubt, the Salone del Mobile experience renewed our confidence in leading companies and major brands. Despite the increasingly high needs and expectations of the public, the brands we work with once again succeeded in opening up new horizons, refining their furniture with innovations — including technological ones — of extraordinary impact.
The integration of digital solutions and IoT systems is gaining ground, especially among younger audiences. Complex, fascinating forms are being combined with new materials and colours. It is an evolutionary process whose direction we are beginning to glimpse, yet one that may still hold surprises that are hard to imagine. So, see you next year — once again in Milan, once again with Interni Italia by Attaguile.
